Was on my way to work and they all suddenly stopped working, tried my hazards, still not working. I am assuming it will just be the fuse, which I am going to replace on my way home from work this evening.

However, I noticed that when trying to turn my hazards or indicators on there was a strange swirling noise coming from below my handle bars. It only made the noise when I tried to activate them. Is this normal? Preparing my self in advance just in case it isn't the fuse, might have to finish work a little earlier to fix it.

CBR500...

Under warranty I'd expect, return and get a loan bike while they fix.

Sounds like a fuse to me. The noise could be the flasher relay, but without hearing it that's a bit of a stab in the dark.

However as Paddy says, if it's under warranty just take it back to the dealer.

Dealer is a little out the way, i'll test to see if the fuse works tonight. Maybe I am just noticing the noise because indicators aren't working.

Just called up, seems its the flasher relay.

They said the fuse on the CBR500R is attached to lights as well, and since they are working it is probably the relay.

That would have been my guess, the relay actually buzzing. Google tells me it's at the front under the tank (Honda keep moving it on various bikes).

If swapping it yourself the following pic may be useful.
However, if under warranty for the love of God let Honda dealer do it. Much invalidation of warranty could result.

Bought it to the Dealership last Thursday.

Got a call on Friday from the Dealership saying that the whole flasher relay part has corroded away due to water. He said that it should defiantly be done under warranty and now I am just waiting to hear back from Honda.

One part, however, they might not to be to get till mid January...

Thinking Worth having a bet that Honda blame it on something like you washing your bike and not taking due care and/or using the incorrect cleaning product? That's just my cynical side you understand.

As said, push for courtesy bike until yours is fixed. The dealer should get reimbursed by Honda for that. It might focus their attention on getting the part quicker as well.

Worth asking if occurred on any other CBR500R, as in is it a design flaw?
