I'm tired of the incredibly slow connection that I get to my Sky router. I transfer a lot over of data over my local WiFi network.
I want to replace the router with something else. My wireless card supports 802.11ac, so a router capable of that would seem the obvious choice.
Something like this perhaps? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CEB53MS
Is it worth replacing the home hub as a modem? I already extracted my Sky DSL credentials from the router (Wireshark... lol...). If so, the router would need to supports PPPoA.
Or just disable its wireless capabilities, using the Sky hub as the modem (my outside connection isn't that fast anyway) and a better router as the wireless router?
Cheers! ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |
