rear wheel removal (burgman400)

Got all the exhaust off

Brake caliper loose ready

I went to undo the wheel with my impact wrench but its not budged it

Any ideas how to undo this but

I'm now thinking half inch breaker bar with the 27mm socket on it

Any other ideas

Penetrating oil, heat?

I'd say impact but presumably your spinny gun has been doing that.

Might just not have enough torques though, so sure, go with the bar, that's how I got mine off.

One factor in sodding off my Burgman was the hassle involved in doing all of this stuff. Exhaust (snapped a stud) and wheel off just to change the bleedin' pads.

Just tried with me on bike with brake on and mate with a wratchet


No go so bar coming later

Don't think so, but it's apparently 87 foot-torques to remove it (and the rest).

Personally I'd have left the brake caliper on, then got a mate to hold the brake on while I try to crack the bolts off with a breaker bar. But that's just me. I'd have then probably hit the breaker bar with a rubber mallet maybe.

What I sometimes do is get the socket on there with a normal sized bar and pull it down to tension it as much force as I can. Then a friend hits the end of the bar with a hammer, much like the impact wrench would do.

But I favour a breaker bar over this, makes a meal of it and wouldn't recommend hitting a ratchet with a hammer!

You do not need to take off the brake caliper on a burgman. The disc is on a separate carrier and not fixed to the wheel.

bungie the brake lever down and get a breaker bar on the nut.

Brake on (burger has a handbrake)

Tried to start with no use

Lost me temper and pulled rather then pushed and it cracked off

Wheel is in hall ready to go for changing
