hi,

I don't know how it is for you guys but it is getting cold and frost round the north west.
Anyway i was riding last night back home around 10PM and this morning around 8AM both really cold temperatures but i heard something i never heard before i'm not sure if i just never noticed it but when braking is sound like a ever so slight grinding noise whilst braking and having the clutch held in, now it is quite hard to tell if it is the brakes or not due to the engine noise on my 125.
I'm not sure if anyone has a clue what i mean but i have only just realised it while its cold?
If it helps it is a Haotian HT125-8/lexmoto vixen

Cheers

Have you checked the brake pads for wear recently?

That's a good point, to be honest not had time to do that as i finsihed work at 10PM last night and started at 9AM this morning and had to allow time for travelling.
I finish at half 6 so when i get home this is something i can do.
Would this make sense from where the slight grinding noise is coming from but only noticed it when it has been cold?

Could be a lot of things. Pads wearing out, brakes binding very slightly, warped disc.

If there's plenty of meat on the pads then I'd move on to giving the pistons a pre-winter clean. Plenty of vids on it, and a simple enough task on your bike.

Good as any.

I can't recall exactly how the pads come out on your bike, but I do recall that there's a spring clip in behind them, so be ready to catch it and remember where it came from.

It won't be hard to figure out once you've got the caliper off the disc.

I've realised it is not the brakes, i was riding up and down the back of my house and trying different things like front brake only back brake only and just easing of the throttle and when i pull the clutch so the engine ain't so loud it sounds like its coming from underneath the bike like something is rattling as if a bolt is loose (i hope not)
Rogerborg you seems to know the bike i have quite well, have you had this issue or heard of this?
