"Other measures which will be part of the Counter Terrorism and Security Bill include:

Allowing the cancellation of the passports of suspects who are overseas, so they can only return to the UK on the government's terms;
Changes to TPIMs - Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures - to allow the authorities to force suspects to move to another part of the country;
Making it compulsory for public bodies like schools, colleges and prisons to work to prevent terrorism;
Forcing firms to hand details to police identifying who was using a computer or mobile phone at a given time;"

Oh, I see that train passengers aren't sufficiently terrified compared to air travellers. Positively unpatriotic, clearly need more body scanners in major stations. Tut Tut

Don't bother waiting for the ink to dry, in fact why wait til the legislation's actually written?

They're already openly admitting feature creep, terrorism laws to be used against organised crime and paedos... Presumably disorganised crime, naughty twitter users, viewers of risqué videos and those who can't have something else pinned on them are also to be slipped in once its law...

Um why are you complaining?

You all voted FOR this kind of thing and gave your implicit consent for anything and everything politicians do.

Spoiling your vote helps maintain the status quo pretty much saying carry on. While at the same time increasing the margin of the victor.

Spoiling your vote is as clear as we can come to saying "None of the above."

A one-vote victory is still a victory and I live in a seat that's redder than a baboon's bollocks, so my vote is effectively wasted whatever I do with it.

I'd get angrier, but there's some chicken nuggets in the oven and I'm a Celebrity, Feed me Kangaroo Cock is on tonight, so that's me sorted for my panem et circenses.

At least it's Merseyside, so it's not like they've got any other crimes to be investigating.

Huh, what do you know, sometimes there is a jihadist under the bed.

The Four Horsemen of the Infocalypse are riding through the land Sad

Quote:

On Sunday, the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police told the BBC that four or five terror plots had been stopped this year.

I would have hoped (obviously in vain) that someone rising to the heady levels of commisioner of the Met would be able to count accurately to at least five.

True, but we're hardly likely to win hearts and minds by sending the pigs into the mosques.

I can't really figure out what "[requiring] that schools, colleges and probation providers help prevent people being radicalised" actually means in practice.

Call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit it hard and hit it fast with a major - and I mean major - leaflet campaign, and while it's reeling from that, we'd follow up with a whist drive, a car boot sale, some street theatre and possibly even some benefit concerts. OK? Now, if that's not enough, I'm sorry, it's time for the T-shirts.

Anger and discontent is easily harvested. It is even easier to harvest when there is a common enemy.

That they need to be made aware of their options. I'm not so old as to not remember being 16-21 it was a case of oh I have to do well in these exams else my life is ruined. There is also a lack of something valuable to lose. Society recognises that young men the under 35s are the biggest threat to society. This is why law enforcement is focused on this group.

We had a lot of BCFers who rode like crazy. JohnC for instance one of the fastest of the BCF norf group. Same with GSXR-Mick and his NSR250. He was fast, but the moment families started and they settled down they had a whole load to lose and therefore they calmed down.

The UK economy is so horribly imbalanced jobs are scarce, insecure and low paid for the youth and the economy is geared towards the rent seekers and the grey vote. As such you get a lot of angry young men. Jobs security = poontang.

These men who rightly or wrongly blame a lot of the troubles on the the powers that be. They like you look at the impotent political system and see limited options.

Imagine yourself if you were 18 today you would be absolutely feckered as social mobility is dead to get a bit of paper to get anywhere you need £60K of debt.

So people seek a way out, whites go off to China and pretend to be teachers which buys them a not so bad life style (China is stamping down on this hard). Brown people don't get hired to do this. Going out to fight is allowing them to carve a slice of the world for themselves and get a bit of payback for the inequality.

The government can rebalance the economy to keep these individuals occupied and have something to look forward to or even to lose. Or it can keep on doing the same thing over and over. Making it so that the young are in-effect screwed. Guess which one they will choose?

China recognises the problem by not (yet) embracing automation, keeping a massive standing army to occupy the angry people hating on Japan and encouraging early marriage using the indenture model rather than the southern (slightly) more equitable model. Add in the strong conditioning to conform and these people end up having stuff to lose, they get poontang and therefore tend not to get tempted by groups like ISIS.

There have been two Han Chinese captured and killed fightng for ISIS while the UK a smaller place has supplied a fair bit more.

Conscription!

Well, when the State bleeds me totally dry to give everyone from Disaffected Communities cushy jobs as Disaffected Communities Outreach Co-ordinators, then schools won't have to lie about them not having any prospects.

Until that happens, lying is pretty much all that they can do about it.

Which does get me back to my genuine question: what more are schools, colleges and (Allah wept) "probation providers" actually supposed to do, right now? Hand out Chick Tracts?

It's early compared to the western world.

In China if you're not married by the time you're 30 you get considered a left over and undesirable. Men are called 光棍 women are called 剩女.

Consider in the west it is inappropriate to call a woman a spinster at least till her mid 40s.

That's cultural though. The state does not stick a badge on women saying "left over", it sets a marriage age older than the UK.

That kind of makes it worse. As in Korea. Korean men get conscripted they come out with so so job prospects but are now trained killers. They get by by hating on China, Japan and whites.

There is a bit on 1984 whereby Winston sees Eurasian prisoners of war. Somebody surmises that if they sat down and had a chat they would realise that they aren't so different after all? Kind of like when they get Palestinians to play with Israelis on a football team. The hardliners on both sides hate it as it puts into them a reluctance to fight each other.

Kind of similar to WWI when soldiers in who intentionally missed when easy sniping opportunities arose. I cite Dave Grossman on this. As modern soldiering includes significant brainwashing and conditioning to make people kill. Gives them PTSD though. The above is the reverse form of conditioning.

It used to do so. But society at large does the sticker sticking.

Lemmie ask you this when your dad sees you what is the first thing second and third thing he says?

My dad says when you getting married

I know a single girl.

She's not married you should marry her.

Before hello, how are you doing shizzle.

The problem is that these Muslims haven't let Jesus into their lives.

You can't reason with these fuckers and the kids think it's cool and makes them look hard if the don all the Muslim crap and go around being offended by everything that Baby Jesus says.

No matter how much money you through at it be it in the form of youth centres or missiles these buggers will still be un happy until we all kneel down seven times a day and then that wont be enough.

Simplistic I know, but oh so true.

Getting back on track, the commons typically goes overboard when it comes to legislation, particularly when it comes to terror. Thankfully we have the House of Lords which while anachronistic seems to act as a pretty effective brake to any knee jerk and populist policies. I am pretty glad we have them.
