ok kids, im after a new tool bag,
and need help finding the perfect one,

my prerequisite are :
1) must be canvas or extremely hard wearing, i prefer canvas over man made materials,
2) must be hand stitched, and well made, not some shitey factory spat out crap
3) euro/uk/nz made

preferences:
*i'd like it to be open mouthed, rather than a tool roll or traditional bag,
if it zips up thats fine, probably even desirable,
*i'd like pockets on the outside and screwdriver/tool slots on the inside

i'll refine this as ideas come in,

id rather pay more for a decent hand made bag, i don't want anything made in china, i might stretch to Pakistan or India if the quality is there.
so no de walt, stanley, clarke or irvine etc. branded bag,
i want a local made bag thats been designed and put together with pride and skill, not but some Asian kid in a factory somewhere,

the bag doesnt need to be big, it'll only have a few select tools that i require for my inspections of train carriages,
(half a dozen spanners, 5 sockets, a 1/4 rachet, a couple of large screw drivers, hammer, 2 large adjustables, little pry bar)
all the big stuff is in tool boxes, it'll just be what i need to carry to open covers etc.
i'll keep all my electrical tools separate in my awesome nz made tool bag:)

Or somewhere that does marquee hire. As they repair stuff and may have a old one that they could use to knock something up for you.

a couple of hundred quid tops,

my current tool bag is made by a canvas tent maker from a town i lived in, in nz, awesome bag but not quite what im after for this project,

might be right though and just come up with a design myself and get someone local to make it,

feel free to let me know if you know of a good canvas place,

Mine was still going strong after ~5 years of abuse, chucking it around subs and ships full of about 20kg worth of tools before I left the UK. It's probably still going after being scrounged by an apprentice.

although, after reading your list of requirements... I think this is probably more up your street.

It's a tool bag ffs.

you know, when some times you have an idea or a moral about some thing??
mine is not buying cheap chinese shit, more than likely the stanley bag is fine, but id rather pay more money for something who has made something with skill, and preferably made locally,

may be you should consider that, if some one gives you a job, they could have got some chinese company to do the job for cheaper,
british industry is a far cry from where it was 50 years ago,

You may have a point of the quality exceeds that of the mass produced one, but in this case, if that canvas handbag above is anything to go by,it isn't the case.

The one above is ok made, but nothing to write home about, I just liked the design,

I'd still rather give my money to a small British company if I can,
But I take your point,

If anyone knows a good tent maker/sadlery/heavy duty apolsterer let know,
