My 2010 Macbook Pro is at the end of its life now - it has the logic board fault that will require about $300 to fix, and it's driving me nuts.

With the current MBPs well overdue for a refresh and underspecced for their price tag, I'm looking at other options.

I'm considering an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition:

But I'm open to suggestions. It pretty much has to be a 15" laptop, and I want to play games on it.

For the price drops - naturally.

I am wondering just when the new GT900 M GPUs will appear but as it stands my MBP is borderline unusable. I called into my local Mac shop and was told the cost of repairing it could be roughly what it's worth when it's fully operational, all things told.

Is Monday a bit like black Friday but online? If so, surely all the websites will just crash like they did on Friday?

I'm also considering the MSI GS60 series since it has the new GTX970M GPU... price is higher but it's awful when you run out of puff on a relatively new machine (which the Acer above is)

EDIT: Oh, and the Asus one too (which I just realized is 17", oh well):

Having fiddled around with the Eurocom configurator, here's what I have come up with. The X3 probably wins because it has twice the RAM on the GPU, even if it's a bit larger and heavier.
