basically classic Lamborghini been serviced an supposedly the wrong plugs were fitted causing it to end up like a pork scratching

Sounds more like oil filter to me and hot oil all over the manifold but who knows.

I bet HR Owen aren't loving this!

Those lambos are well known for it.pretty easy to flood as well . He flooded it trying to start. Car fired up unused fuel come out manifold onto hot engine part and woosh burnt car Very Happy

I'd hazard a guess that it was a specialist policy that perhaps excluded fire because of no reason at all.

It's that initial puff of smoke that interests me, petrol wouldn't do that but oil certainly would.

What the writ doesn't mention is the kerbside totty and bouncing the engine off the rev limiter* to impress aforementioned.

*Could be either ignition retardation or valve float.

im sure ive seen a video on here of an 'merican revving the tits off his bike, there is a puff of white smoke the next min the bike is crispy..

I had an old banger that had wisps of white vapour coming out of the bonnet, turned out to be petrol spraying onto the exhaust. Still wonder why it didnt go bang as the under bonnet electrics were a sparky nightmare.

Not a very good lawyer, trying to blame the car garage, states they changed the oil, filter and plugs yet says the cause of the fire was incorrect plugs or possibly badly tuned carburettor or timing, neither of which the garage touched apparently so he just provided their get-out too?

Partly, ie the car itself, but not to the extent for which he is claiming (loss of enjoyment etc)

If his insurers do pay out in the first instance, then you'd expect them to jump on the back of the solicitors' case in order to subrogate.... but that depends on how lazy they are.

Assuming it is insured, rather than just leaving £500k with the accountant general. Although someone would probably need to be very stupid to risk that much for the sake of a relatively cheap classic policy.

You can sue anyone for pretty much anything, whether you have a valid case or not is something else. He is suing them - HR Owen for the loss of his car and the loss of enjoyment, not directly suing their insurers.

The Miura is well known for the carbs being happy and capable to put fuel either way through them, either down into the engine or up onto the exhaust.
