hi guys, this post is about my brothers bike, yet again.

Its a kymco super 9 2006. It does not start.

In the past its a been a bad connection to the solenoid, bad connection to the starter motor. bad connection in the wiring loom in the handlebars.

but this time is different. I've retried all of thee above with no joy.

The battery is fully charged.

If i tried and start the bike, absolutely nothing happens. I don't hear a sound, & the engine does not turn. how ever i can start it with the kick.

I think its the started motor solenoid so ill get be getting a volt meter on that later.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks for reading!

If everything leccy works once it's started then it pretty much has to be the solenoid, and it's probably the cheapest bit to replace if you have to resort to changing components until the problem goes away.

I'm assuming you don't have an immobiliser fitted.

are the brake light switches working?

if they don't the bike thinks the brakes aren't on so the starter won't work

Is it a two bolt solenoid that's easy to short out?

If so you could bang a screwdriver across the terminals and see if the motor spins. That'd at least rule out the starter motor itself!

short it on the flats of the nuts not the thread itself as It will damage it when in arcs.

Multimeter and wiring diagram.

Test through the start circuit beginning at the battery, fuses, key, interlock circuit, start button, solenoid, starter motor. When you get to a point where you don't get 12v you should know where the problem lies Thumbs Up

Disclaimer: I've never seen this specific model of bike but the process is the same from a torch up to a multi-million pound production line.
