I'm guessing that is from a real R6 though. Not sure he buys real ones.

Think you'll need another sump.

Some engines have a section you can unbolt at the bottom, in which case might not be total disaster.
It could possibly be welded or something - at some cost.

Does this show the part that broke off?

https://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2001/YZFR6+-+YZFR6N/OIL+CLEANER/parts.html

Might need a new #9. Maybe look on ebay? Partzilla is useful for finding parts that are used across a range of bike models.

Good luck. I hope you aren't off the road for long!

Get it welded, easy enough job. I've welded three thin-section oil sumps in the last month and I'm a novice.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=yamaha+r6&_from=R40%7CR40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xyamaha+r6+sump&_nkw=yamaha+r6+sump&_sacat=0

A few on ebay. Unless you can find someone who will weld it cheap I would just change it.

Hi

With that many on ebay it looks like a common problem with them.

Err no if this was a very common problem there'd be none for sale. The ones that are for sale are from smashed/blown up/stolen bikes.

Even a new one isn't badly priced really. Very common bike so ebay bargains galore.
