So you thought you would further frighten two very scared dogs by blasting your horn?
Did it not even enter your mind to turn round and try and help catch them? There could be any number of reasons they are running free.
Prick.

Clearly OP isn't a dog owner. You were driving through a road that seemed to go through a very wooded area. I wouldn't have been at all surprised to learn that the owners were less than a mile away, on a safe footpathed area. They just didn't expect their dogs to catch a scent and bolt. It's one of the hardest thing to train out of gundog breeds if you don't know how to nip it in the bud. For all you knew, those owners were not too far away, calling desperately for their 'lost dogs', knowing horribly well that a road wasn't far and praying that their pets were all right.

Scenario two, it's pheasant season. Gundogs (and those looked like working labs) are being stolen left, right and centre. Maybe they were stolen and subsequently dumped on the road and were wandering lost which has happened a lot when the power of the Internet has made dogs too hot to handle.

You're right, some people shouldn't have pets, but in a scenario like this where two dogs seem to be wandering away from a residential area, you have NO idea why they were there.

And you're an ass for horn honking, not appearing to slow down and not even thinking to stop and check them for collars. If I'd seen you hit them and then ride off, I wouldn't think twice about reporting you for it.

Had the same on a single country lane. Parked up and caught dogs, waved car down and returned to distraught old lady down road. True story bro.

I wonder if that was the most exciting thing that happened to the OP in the last month or so. Some people really have a sad existence and we should really be more compassionate towards them. I know it's easier said than done, but we should at least try...

It's alright mate, I liked it. Thumbs Up

Was it the Ulster or Northwest where a dog ran on to the track a few years ago? Jeremy McWilliams I think.

A free boot in the groin, if there's any justice.

Lighten up folk........

My post was made as a direct result of you all being what I can only describe as "hyper sensitive"......which seems strange when you see the shit that's posted in the nsfw posts elsewhere.

The guy posts up a vid of him blasting his horn at two dogs, that are running about where they shouldn't be,in fact he was obviously blasting the horn to scare them away from himself so he wouldn't run them over.....makes perfect sense to me.

Not one person has said it;s fine. What we are commenting on is the OP's lack of empathy and common sense.

He has no idea how/why the dogs are running free yet claims "some people should not be allowed pets"

The dogs are quite obviously scared and blasting your horn won't help, If anything could cause them to change direction back into the traffic.

A few months ago, a dog ran out of Oakley Woods onto the Banbury road, poor little thing was scared out of it's skull, I was on my nice quiet vara at the time, luckily, and I went off commute to chase him down, I started to herd him onto the left verge and then a guy on a Beemer rolled up in front and blocked off his escape when he saw what I was doing. We managed to trap it and a man and woman came running out the woods where the dog had come from and spotted us with it just up the road.

Much annoyance was caused to other commuters but Muttley was not splatted and owners were grateful, so success! Thumbs Up
