I remember seeing a jeans thread a few weeks ago but now I can't find it.

Anyway, I'm thinking about getting myself another pair of kevlar jeans and am after a bit of advice. I like the look of the Draggin Jeans Drayko Drifts, which I can use a 15% discount code on to get for £120 or so instead of £150.

Alternatively, I've seen some Rhok Gen3 jeans on eBay for £85...

I believe a few of you guys wear Draggin Jeans. Has anyone tried the Rhok ones? Any opinions on which are better and where my money is better spent?

Got a pair of Draggin Drayko cargo's. Good quality but IMO not worth the price tag unless you are trying to show off the label.

I've got a pair of Draggin, they're fine but I wouldn't buy a pair again after trying out cheaper makes and finding them almost as good (but 1/3 to 1/4 the price).

Draggin kevlar coverage isn't even that great.

Got a a pair of Route one and a pair of Bull-it
Both comfy and well put together, Bull-it were a lot more expensive, got them mainly because I liked the look of them.

Draggin Drayko Optix - Kevlar coverage, note no CE armour pockets

Forceriders (£30 on eBay) - Slightly larger coverage and CE armour pockets (come with removable armour).

The Draggin has much thicker Kevlar but I suspect thicker than needed as I have crashed in the £30 ones and not worn through the Kevlar. You can get 5 pairs of the cheap ones for the price of the Draggin...... I'd rather them (and I do have 6 pairs). Draggin's lack of CE armour bothers me, having fractured my elbow after landing on it even with a CE pad in my jacket I don't want to think about my kneecap hitting the deck without CE armour.

Draggin' aren't worth the money. It never even occurred to me that motorcycle jeans could come without armour pockets until I bought a used pair sight unseen. I stitched some elastic in to hold armour in place.

The denim itself was good quality and a solid black that I got away with as workwear. However, the Kevlar coverage wasn't any better than my £35/£40 Red Routes or Aldi NoBrands, both of which came with armour.

Have you tried the Draggin jeans on?

I tried on loads and some of them just don't fit my Adonis like physique very well. Draggin were expensive, and on me not comfy.

I ended up buying Red Route. They were good value and fit better. Had them nearly 3 years and they are still doing well.

Another point - the Red Route have kevlar areas (arse, knees and down the sides) which means that in summer they are cooler for walking around. EDIT - like the bottom pic Iain posted ^

Full kevlar lining is hot.

I've got Draggin (£130) and RST (£99) jeans. I prefer RST because they come with armour pockets.

I bought Draggin long ago and I don't remember many alternatives at the time. I won't be buying them again. I find RST better for my needs, but there are probably better ones on the market. Draggin jeans not worth the money you pay imho.

I'm also quite tempted to try one of those ebay ones for 30-40 quid.

I got the Aldi £30 jobbies when they came up in the motorbike sale. Good fit, only in long though but that suits my long legs.

Thanks for all the replies.

No, I've not tried the Draggin Jeans on yet.

I've got a pair of RSTs that were reduced to £69, and they've been great. As I wear them most of the time, I thought I'd buy a second pair of something.

I reckon the Draggins are out -- they look good but they've got no armour and if they're not worth the hefty price tag...

I think I'll have a hunt around eBay some more. I've heard that Rhok jeans are good but I've never seen a pair. I think it was a pair of Red Routes that I tried on in Infinity, once. They were huge and they didn't have any smaller sizes in stock, so I've not looked at them since.

+1 on that Thumbs Up

What I have found is that they are warm. So full leg kevlar will mean that wearing in a office or such will see your legs getting very warm.
As well as the increased weight of the jeans.

My hope was that in summer I would be able to wear these instead of my normal ones.
Not going to happen as they simply are not comfortable enough compared to normal jeans.

So riding on a bike is fine. But for anything else as far as I go. not really a option.

Thanks......I'll check out those Hood jeans.....look like a good deal. An ex-mate of mine has a pair of 'Draggin' ones, no doubt would do the biz but looked daft, baggy as buggery !.

Check ebay for 2nd hand hood jeans, i got a pair which were good as new for £45. best jeans i own tbh. they look really smart and can be worn off the bike without looking stupid, even with the armour in.

Two pairs of Aldi jeans and some red routes, I like the red routes but they cost me nearly three times the Aldi jeans and there isn't much difference between them. In fact the more expensive jeans have been reduced to off-roading duty and the Aldi ones are used as 'best' jeans. Laughing

In fact, I'm wearing Aldi base layers there, work really well in sweaty conditions, and the motorcycling socks they did once, I'm quite a big fan of Aldi motorbike accessories... Embarassed

The main criteria for me was jeans that looked 'normal' as in the summer I wear them all day at work - I have a pair of the aldi jeans but they're too baggy. Furygan jeans are perfect, the kevlar coverage isn't as good as hood jeans but they have D30 armour which is bloody fantastic, so good in fact that I have furygan textiles with the same D30 armour. I can wear the jeans for 12 hours straight without problems, dead comfy. And they're long enough to go over my boots and not ride up even though I'm 6ft 3in.

I'll probably get a pair of hood jeans next, don't need the armour as I have 2x knee sets, 1x hip plus elbow/back/shoulder armor in my jacket.

I might venture to an Aldi at the weekend, too. I've not looked at their bike kit before but if it's as good as I hear...

They don't sell them all year round. Only 1, sometimes 2 weeks a year.
