Hiya guys, This is my first post im new. You all seem very helpful so fingers crossed you can help.
I have a 2012 Wk Wasp (chinese i think :/). Ive had it for about 5 months. Its been ok. Cut out once but started again. A few weeks ago i washed it and i wouldnt start so i stripped it and couldnt find the issue, baught a new CDI and it was great for two weeks riding it every day.

Two days ago it got very slugish and then cut out, luckily it started again to get me home (still very bogged down though). Went to start it the next morning and it ticks over very well and you can give it as much throttle as you like but then the revs beggin to die down after a couple minutes and just cuts out again, if you attempt to give any throttle at all when the revs begin to die it cuts out also.

Ive seen similar issues people have had but answers to the problem are different every where you look!

Could it be the Auto choke? (i know alittle about its and its function but not its location!)

Could it be the fuel filter?

or a blocked jet in the carb that i checked only 2 weeks prior?

Put the old CDI back on it and you'll likely find that it's perfectly fine & that the time it took you to get a new one just allowed the wiring to dry out. Next time try soaking the wiring in WD40 Laughing

Could be any of the above.

I doubt it's the fuel filter mind, fuel contamination due to dodgy tank seal or somethings more likely on a china bike.

Blocked jet, again a possiblility. If you've got dirt making its way past the fuel filter then it could clog again.

Autochoke? Have a look here - there's a guide for testing to make sure if it's operating;

I'd also get a glass jar, and open the carburettor drain screw, drain the contents of the carb into it and let it sit on the side for a few hours to see if it seperates which would indicate water contamination in the fuel.

Will give the old a CDI a check out of interest but i did use a good amount of wd40 on the wires and opened the casing of the scooter up and sat an industrial fan on it as i my first thought at the time was that i got a connection too wet. Will also see if there is water in my carb. Thanks for the response mate Smile

old CDI doesnt work. Surely the problems are specific to one part of the bike. I can check anythihg if anyone has any ideas. Thanks Smile
