Here is mine artistic paint diagram as expected.
From two days ago (the actual lorry was white), on my way to work, a big HGV doing left turn has gone in my lane doing about 25 mph.
Bare in mind that is one 90 degree tight bend with zero visibility from both sides, I was just lucky that I have not reached yet the place where he has swept the bend.
I just had a time to stop way in a front of him, to wait him returning in his lane. The road is really tight and he was blocking 100% of my lane during his fast left turn:

Well, an HGV needs more room than his lane allows for, so intrusion in to your lane is necessary. If you were going at a reasonable speed for the conditions, and he's not seen you and given way, it's his fault. If you were a mile off as he began the manoeuvre and you've been hurtling towards him like a maniac, then it's yours. If you were both going a bit too fast or both 'underpaying' attention, you've both got things to learn. Without a video we'll never know. Biased paint pic is worthless etc.
So buy a helmet cam. |

You should ride on country lanes with the ability to stop within half the distance you can see, as just out of sight could be anything, which needs part of 'your stopping distance'
I learnt that the hard way meeting a combine harvester a year after passing my driving test.
Dad never did work out what the slight scratch on the bonnet was from, next door's cat got the blame. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

The safety rule is even if it's under the speed limit (you said 25), it can still be too fast if you're not primed & ready to stop quickly at the speed you're going in the required distance to avoid a collision. |

I also got flashed by a speed camera doing 50 odd in a 40 (dual carriageway) and it must be a new fucking camera because I've done 60-70 through that bit and never been flashed there.
I'm super wound up now |

I don't reckon that he needs any lessons or lectures from you, Meef. ____________________ A good loser will always be a loser. |
