Ok, here goes.
I recently started working for Pizza Hut about 2 weeks ago. Delivering pizzas on their 50cc scooters so that I can save up for the first year of uni expenses when I start next year.
Today I got pulled over by an unmarked car as I went over a pavement to get past traffic. It was silly of me, I know. But just wanted to dodge traffic.
I pulled over to the side and the woman in the unmarked police car started shouting like I had just about murdered someone.
She got out and asked me for ID, I said I haven't got any. She asked me if I had a bank card, I said yes, I do. I showed it to her and she said I might of stole it (the card), she said she should arrest me. She checks my information and it all checks out.
The male officer was a pretty cool guy and was explaining to me in a calm manner that I shouldn't of done it, then told me he's a biker too, asked what bike I had and so on, whilst she was doing the checks.
She starts asking me about the scooter, about the brakes and so on, saying that I better hope it works because someone's coming to inspect it (no-one did). She tried finding more things to pin me on.
They tell me to sit in the car. Her and the geezer riding shotgun have a discussion about what they should do outside the car.
From what I gathered, the male officer told her to let me off, but the female officer said no, it was her decision as I assume she was of a higher rank. The male officer said they were on opposite sides. The female officer was very aggressive and felt like she had a vendetta against me, very emotional. (So much for feminism).
Whilst I was in the car, she said she was booking me or something. I asked what happens now, she said I'll receive a letter in the post about a court date and that the judge will decide. She said I could have my licence revoked/suspension.
Before I went she filled in this book thingy with my information.
Then asked me to sign it, I refused.
Before I left, they gave me this card thingy that says.
Warning Notice Section 59 (4) Police Reform Act 2002
Driving without due care and attention. On the back it says if you commit a similar offence within 12 months from the date of this Warning Notice your vehicle can be seized.
Anyone know what will happen now?
The letter I get in the post, will it say I have a choice of points+fine or go to court to appeal it, or do I have to go to court for the decision?
When it comes to the video footage, there may be a chance that the number plate of the scooter wasn't visible as the sun appeared to block it in the screen when they played the video. Can I use this to my advantage?
Am I likely to be banned? (It's my first offence ever) I was on the pavement for less than 5 seconds at around 10-15mph with no one else on it. The vehicle it self tops out at around 30mph.
I don't see why they have to be so harsh on penalties, all they had to do was just give me a warning and I'd never do it again. I never thought much of it as all the other guys do it all the time. ____________________ It says I need a signature, so yeah, here's one. |

Sounds like you caught her on blob week, but notwithstanding that why risk your license when you're getting paid by the hour? Just wait in the traffic. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I know I shouldn't of done it, it was a mistake.
They'd probably make me pay for the pizza though if it got too late.
The more houses you go to = more tips, so the quicker I get to and from deliveries the more money I basically make. I'm naturally quite competitive so wanted to get the driver of the week award lol, had everyone laughing at how I'm going to win it when I got back (Sarcastically).
What's done is done though, it's all in the past. Won't happen again, just want to move on from it.

It's just a warning, I'd be surprised if you hear anything again.
Did the woman caution you? (you do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence... Etc) |
Yes she did, she said you do not have to say anything in your defence....
Would you say that means I'm going to court? ____________________ It says I need a signature, so yeah, here's one. |

Some years ago I had a 10.5 mile chase on the M4 (I didn't realise I was being chased and slowed down as I caught up with the person I was late to meet). They had radar'd me at 119mph while undertaking
They then made me (and them) wait an hour for a car with a digital camera (yes, a good few years ago) to take pictures - it was a track bike with a few road bits bodged on.
For the riding, they were going for Dangerous Driving.
Never heard anything.
Most aren't so lucky.
You've got six months to worry.
It does seem rather harsh offering up a S59 AND passing your details to the CPS.
I would get over to https://forums.pepipoo.com and as accurately as possible describe what happened.
As for the pavement - people place their vehicle on pavements all the time.
Obviously better observation is the first thing.
Then, I suspect you might have done better if you'd kept to a fast walking pace. |

I've had about 4 section 59's, it's literally a joke to scare kids, like the bogeyman. Nothing will happen. They don't give you an s59 and prosecute.
I even got pulled for wheelies when I still had an active section 59, so they just gave me another one without checking the other one (it was for the same thing) ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Lucky that he explicitly states it's less than 5 seconds in the bit you quoted, then .
Care to define exactly what makes it dangerous in any situation? |
Exactly, who cares, no harm no foul
So when drivers two wheel up pavements to get by traffic that's not ok either I assume? Yeah didn't think so.
I've done it, no kittens were killed, progress was made, not like he ragged over a pavement covered in kids, i'm guessing it was empty
You'd have been ok if you got off and pushed it, derpily enough |
If anyone's wondering, here's where it was, from the left side. And no that man/woman (can't tell) wasn't there, it was completely empty. Had full visibility around the pavement too.

I wouldn't even respond to this 'demand' that you submit to the cops's extra-judictial punishment. ____________________ trevor saxe-coburg-gotha:"Remember this simple rule - scooters are for men who like to feel the breeze on their huge, flapping cunt lips."

I cut on this path once as a bus had broken down under this bridge and might have pulled a wheelie at some point whilst shouting juuullaaayyy allahhhhh

I did kill no one and I laugh at your fine. However you can laugh at my broken engine so all is fair |
