Smile Hi there, this is my first post in the forums and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm saving up for a 125 and was wondering what to aim for. I know about the usual contenders (CG125 etc.) and thought about other bikes...
I really have my heart set on something like the Hyosung comet gt125, and I know that there are already comments about them on this site, but what are they like to ride? I.E. how heavy? What are the brakes like? Gearchange? What sort of price second hand? (I saw a 2 year old one (2003) go for £1500 on E-bay-is this a good price?)

Any help would be really appreciated, thanks in advance! Very Happy

hi, from what i've read they're a pretty good machine.not brilliant, but average. not heard anything particularly bad about them.

i'd say thats the most you'd want to pay for one though, because they don't seem to hold their value very well.

Yeah, thats what I thought. They seemed to get great reviews though, and they look good. Have you seen the 600gtr full fairing version? I would rather have that than a Suzuki bandit!

Firstly, hello and welcome Very Happy From what I have heard the commet is a good machine, but there seems to be 'bad' ones that go wrong constantly. I dont think they are too common though, and it could be how there ridden of course. Most reviews and comments are good Thumbs Up

Remember; you are paying a lot of money for a bike that does a lot less than many cheaper (and older) bikes.

They're very aesthetically pleasing bikes, they certainly don't look like a 125, a nice V-twin engine aswell if I'm not very much mistaken.

There are a couple of people on the forum with them, a couple have had reliability/build quality problems.

Personally I wouldn't get one but get a cheaper 125 and move onto a bigger bike as and when.

Get a cheap DT or a CG until you get bored of it/learn the basics of how to ride and maintain it then save your money for doing your test and get a bigger bike. Wink

Thanks for the advice everyone, I will look around for a bargain rather than go in with an open wallet.

heh heh...

I would reckon about 220 pounds perhaps, maybe more. Surprised
I play alot of rugby. Mr. Green

Do I take it that this will be a problem then? I found a nice 1999 daelim vee (£650 buy it now) on ebay and a sachs 125 roadster. (100 miles) would these be more suited to my size? Neutral
