Although an rs125 may be restricted you can make the most of the available power by making sure the fuel Premium Unleaded, chains are regularly lubed by top quality lubes,spark plugs are the correct rating,tyre pressures correct,if your bike is de -restricted you can still have a restriction if power valve cable is slack or disconnected,sometimes just bogding cdi is not enough if power valve is not in place. Hi

Using high octane fuel when set up for normal unleaded will give zero benefit. Using normal unleaded when set up for high octane unleaded will quite easily result in serious engine problems (eg, burn a hole in the piston).

Similarly the spark plug rating is not going to give you more power. Too hot a plug can cause problems, or just a short spark plug life. Too cold a plug (ie, higher number with NGK plugs) will just foul far more easily when used at low speed.

Chain lubed and adjusted and tyre pressure correct will avoid losing performance there.

I would say that a restriction is a deliberate mod to limit power, rather than just poor adjustment losing power. But the power valve cable just needs to be set up to allow the valve to close at low revs (ignoring it being open below 2500rpm), and for the solonoid to be able to fully open it at high revs.

The cdi mod does nothing to peak power. It removes a massive amount of ignition retard between 4750rpm and 6000rpm (this ignition retard causes a large flat spot), but does nothing outside that rev range.
