What's your tipple?

I quite like Jura origins, but just picked up dalwhinne 15 earlier which is going down a treat.

Current tipple is Singelton of Glendullan but I enjoy a wide range. If you like Dalwhinnie 15yr then you should try an Oban 14yr.

Have a sniff at Ben Bracken from Lidls, 12 year old malt that beats anything at 4 times the price hands down @ 13.97, smooth as a smooth thing.

Caol Ila for the win Very Happy

(I can't drink Speyside's, for some reason they give me rotten heartburn so it's Islay's only)

For years I have have wanted to like whisky and failed. This year I was in Glasgow for a week during the Commonwealth Games and I mentioned this to a Scottish colleague. "Right, we'll see what we can dae aboot that". I finally got it. I'm still a beginner and settled on a regular Glenmorangie. The 'experts' at the table were drinking stuff that, to me, had a noticeable phenolic odour (and taste). Not unpleasant, but unexpected.

I developed a taste for Auchentoshan after being introduced to it whilst on holiday in Barbados. There's nothing quite like it, and they sell it in Tesco now Smile

You could always give https://www.englishwhisky.co.uk/ a try. Only been going since December 2006 so nothing is that old but worht a try. Also local(ish) to me, which is convenient.

For a distillery's core expression, I think the Talisker 10 year old is very good for the money. I've got a bottle of the 2002 Distiller's Edition, though, at that's lovely!

I am partial to anything Islay or Island—Kilchoman are a very good, newer distillery—however, I'm looking to get something Speyside, maybe, that's not all smoke and peat. Eyes are on the GlenDronach 15 year old or the Benromach Hermitage Wood Finish, if I can still get hold of one.

Got a bottle of Arran Premium Single Cask 1998 - sherry cask, which is really good. Lots of fruit and stewed apples with a rich cinnamon kind of finish and a light touch of smoke.

I have a bottle of vodka, deep rich tones of vodka with refreshing vodka notes and a pleasant vodka aftertaste. Wink

Current favourite is Ardbeg Corryvrekan. https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-10767.aspx

In a close second it has to be Lagavulin.

I was a member of the Penderyn whisky club but I think my membership has lapsed. I used to be a big fan of their madeira expression but now I can't get on with it. It has some bizzarre tequila after taste that I can't figure out what it is. The same goes for their peated expression (conditioned in ex Laphroaig casks); it is a good whisky but not something I could drink every week, just now and again.

Corryvreckan is really good—I'm at the end of a bottle, myself. However, I'm not sure that the extra cost is justified over and above that of the Uigeadail, which, in my opinion, is just as good for £10 less...

I'll keep that in mind. The other half has bought me a bottle of something for Christmas but it's still wrapped up under the tree. She's out with her parents at the moment and I'm not allowed to open it until she's back. Sad

I can recommend Highland Park, it has a rich peaty flavour and is as smooth as silk. Thumbs Up

My friend introduced me to a fancy single malt, I forget it's name. I vomited it onto his Kicker moccasin style shoes. I say moccasin as that particular style served as a tray for my vomit.

He binned them and I haven't touched any scotch since and that was the late nineties.
