Hi Bought a model rocket kit around 10 years ago just dug it out of the loft and wonder why not many people seem interested ??

Looked for clubs etc and there is none near me (Leighton Buzzard) so made a facebook page www.facebook.com/groups/916585851687428/ shameful plug Thumbs Up

Thought a few people on here would be interested in explosions and rocketry things ? And wondered if there was any like minded people nearby ?

Played with model rocket engines a few times. Had many good times jamming sparklers down the back of them and setting the fuckers off down a mates garden aged about 14-15.

Not really my thing, as I recall the engines were pretty pricey & fireworks had much the same effect for a lot less money. It's interesting to see one go up mind Thumbs Up

If you guys need BP making, let me know, I am only in MK.

Problem with model rockets in the UK is you are going to attract unwanted attention wherever you go. Would be cool to live near a salt flat or something for this and many other reasons.

I got back into this a few months back, tis great fun, and there is some brilliant kits out there.

My last build was a Fliskits Thunderbird, scale model of the UK 1970's Anti Air missile....sooooo many fins! Not flown it yet, to be honest, I've not quite finshed it yet, the amount of time I put into it....it's going to be a scary launch!

Gaffa tape some of the rocket engines to a football.

Get some fireworks rockets and stick them in the ground upside down and then light them.

Get some more rocket, gaffa tape them together and then light them all at the same time.

Light some fireworks, throw them in a fridge and slam the door quickly.

Love messing with rockets, fireworks and such like but a licence is nearly impossible to get nowadays and way too expensive for a handful of crappy little rockets. Too much red tape involved., last time I had a few rockets they were taped to the back of a Honda mini melody, that did not go well at all mainly because I though the rockets went Whizz, no-one told me they went Whizz Bang, the rider was not too impressed either. Its not an every day sport but it would be good to have a meet every so often and fire a few rockets off, going get a v2 next i think using the d12 motors supposed to be impressive.
