Anyone here cut sheet metal?

I've got two brackets I need creating from 2.5/3mm aluminium sheet.

Sheet is cheap to buy but I've got no capacity to cut it.

Had a look locally but not found anywhere small enough willing to take the job on.

Was wondering if anyone here fancies the job.

I can post a full size 1:1 drawing and a cardboard template of the brackets.

Plenty of ways you can easily cut it yourself.
You can get up to about 10mm steel with a jigsaw and the right blade, so 3mm aluminum isn't a problem.
Do need to be careful to make sure it doesn't get (too) distorted from the cutting.

Buy a drill operated nibbler and do it yourself.

Will take minutes.

If I had the tools and space I'd do it myself.

I don't have any working space, a jigsaw, a drill, or vice, or even somewhere to lay it flat. It would cost me more to buy all those things just for one or two jobs than to pay someone (if I can find someone) to do it for me.

Normally if i need a tool I buy it, but since I'm going moving out in autumn and can't take any power tools with me, there isn't much point in investing in them now.

Are they for a top box? 'Had a look for some used brackets that you can adapt?

That's aright, I'll just keep asking around. I'm sure I'll find some who will do it for £20 plus materials.

Vincent, nah they are custom brackets to support the rear end of the BMW G650. The tail flapping about is a know problem and riding hard off road can cause it to destroy itself.

Mini grinder and 1mm disc will see that off in a few minutes. £20 for the grinder and a few quid for some discs.

I actually do own a grinder.

Aldi have a small work bench going in one of their specials. I literally don't have a single table top in the flat.

Would probably need a vice though, that's going to be a pain to get rid of when I move.
