As title, I live in a terrace house, my 98 CBR600 is too wide to fit through the alleyway into my garden so I'm looking for suggestions for something thinner?

Budget around £1500

Yamaha SDR200 is about the narrowest bike I can think of.

Forgot to discount 125's, still want something I would like to ride with a bit of poke, minimum 100mph and 35odd bhp, only needs to be 3ish inches thinner than a cbr600.

It's not a 125.

Looks nice to ride. Plus, not having brakes gives that exciting element of danger. Being your age (I assume over 18) you'll more than likely get a poke or two riding it.

Put it in the boot of most cars and you'll have over 35bhp and more than 100mph available - plus it'll be nice and dry over winter.

It'll fit up your back passage nicely with plenty of room to spare.

HTH Thumbs Up

The bars would be too wide. He'll need something with clip ons.

A nice fun light single or twin sounds ideal.

How about a Yamaha SRX400/600?

Always found fzr600s to be fairly thin.

Quite dated although 100mph easily achieved.

3 inches is quite a lot when the width of your bike is 27. So you're looking for a bike that with standard handlebars is no wider than 24?

Do you have small hands? Maybe modified shorter handlebars? Laughing

I don't really know any bike as narrow as 24 inches.

As above - what's the widest part?

When I looked before, the GSXR1000 I used to have was listed as narrower than a RXS100.
You won't get much narrower than a 675 with mirrors folded in - could maybe angle the bars in a bit more, as they will be the widest bit by a good way.

Also consider the full lock capability. My guess is an RSX100 has a tighter lock than a GSXR.

The GSXR, however, has a front brake and throttle that actually do useful stuff, so can also turn in tight spaces Razz.

Often have big exhausts sticking out, sometimes both sides.

FWIW: listed widths; GSXR1000 K6 715mm. Triumph 675: 710mm.
I believe that's actually for the mirrors and you'll reduce that a bit with them folded in.
