I have never heard of it. To put that in context, I have working in the engine oil business for 22 years.
That said, that doesn't automatically make it bad. The chances are that it is either supplied to them from a better-known oil supplier as a 're-brand' (ie WellKnownOil makes it alongside their other products and puts it in your bottles with your labels), or it is an off-the-shelf formulation from one of the additive suppliers, blended by a 'toll blender' (ie, the additive supplier sells you the additives and tells you what base oils to blend it in and how much, you find a blender who will blend and package this for you). This is known as a 'market general' product, meaning anyone can make and sell the same formulation (thus offering no chance of differentiation, but eliminating any product development costs).
As stated though, on a per-mile basis, how much does oil actually cost? Compare that to fuel, tyres, insurance etc then make your decision based on your own approach to cost vs performance. ____________________
