Don't do it, take the A2 Restricted test which I think is same price and lets you ride a bigger bike if you want too without taking another test. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Mine cost £430, for CBT and about 15 hours of intensive one-to-one lessons before my first test (which was included in the price). All done on their bike.
I also had a guaranteed pass, which means that I had more lessons each time I failed at no extra cost to me - but it did cost me £96 for 2 more test fees! ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Its the same price as far as i know, and totaly useless, you can ride a 125 indefinately just takeing the cbt every two years...
The only restriction being the 15bhp, L-plates and no passengers.. but why on earth anyone would reguarly take passengers on a 125(2stroke not included) i don't know!!
I looked into it myself, and it is just as hard as takeing the full test on a 125! so you do the exact same test, pay out the same money for training (because theres a pretty good chance you'll need it) but can only ride 125s after... ????
If memory serves correctly its £50 for the test? Realisticly you'd need at least one days training @ £100ish a full das course would be £500 but is very very worth it... ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Very unlikely, lots of people do, no one can really tell unless the bike is taken apart by someone who knows what they're looking for or if someone who knows about 125's catches you doing 95mph.
I've not heard of someones insurance noticing but there was this letter in Fast Bikes mag about someones insurance noticing when they are claiming. You'd then be very fucked as you personally are liable for the bill, it would be paid by the MIB who would then come after you for their money. That is all dependant on them catching you which other than that letter in Fast Bikes I'd have said the chances of were as good as zero.
Lots of people on here (as the forum is from NSR125.com) have riden 125's de-restricted with no problems.
Go for it IMO. |

If you want, ride on your cbt for a few months, get used to riding, then do your restricted test....but if you de-restrict it, you do this at your own risk, most people dont get caught (ive never herd of anyone getting caught) if you do this yourself, keep the restrictors, so if theres any problems, say you get flashed for speeding, just whack them back on.
dont ride like a complete dick head
have some consideration for other people
no wheelies/stoppies/burnouts or any other acts of sillyness
most of all no speeding.

The MIB pay out for un insured or untraceable drivers. They then go after the person to blame to recover their costs.
This is all dependant on them noticing that you're not restricted which is very very unlikely, that fast bikes letter is the first time I've heard of it happening, don't know if anyone has heard of it ever happning. |

I paid £480 for a two day intensive which included the test at the end.
But unfornatly I failed twice and also had a test cancelled whilst at the test centre and after about 2 months of trying it ended costing me well over £1k to get passed
I haven't rode my bike since I passed either and that was the end of last summer ____________________ Bikes: Honda CBR250R | Honda ST70 |
