Is there any requirement for headlights, specificly those being used as position markers, on a motorcycle to be visible from a certain angle to the side? My understanding of the RVLR is that such lights only need to be visible from the front.

Does this mean that bikes with two headlights where one is dip and the other is main may appear unlit at the front when viewed at an angle to the side?

Most other vehicles require that front position lights are visible 80 degrees outwards and 45 degrees inwards (rear position and brake light on a motorcycle is 80 degrees each side)

I did, specifically the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989 which I believed to be the final word on the matter, which is how I came to the conclusion that this was indeed possible.

And if bodyguard is riding a bike that appears unlit from one side, only the unfortunate whose car now has to have a mangled corpse and a welded sprocket removed from it.
