hi there BCF

I am looking at a torque wrench that is going up the shaft from 2 / 4 / 6 /8 /10...up to 24 Nm

the handle turns from 0/ .4 /.8 /1.2 /1.6 /0

what i know is '0' is set to the intersection of the vertical with the horizontal ,so if i choose 6 Nm for example, from 4Nm [obviously i could just use the 6 Nm] am i getting there correctly by thinking like this:??

turning clockwise to .4 ' means it is now set to 4.4 Nm's

to .8 = 4.8

and by turning again to 1.2 would mean it was now set to 5.2,[not 5.8 + 1.2 = 7]

then if turned to 1.6 = 5.6

and then back to 0 would now be set to 6 Nm's [and it now does line up just under the 6 Nm mark] have i got this all wrong? :)

Setting a torque wrench is akin to reading a micrometer. Yes it sounds like you are doing it right, but as this is bcf I shall include extra information for the benefit of others :-p
