Of course we don't know what's wrong? How could we, you haven't given any useful information. Help yourself by giving the whole story.

What's a BTM Q9? 50cc moped, 125cc scooter, something else?

Why did you replace the battery?

Did the electrics fail completely? Did the lights dim and it become harder to start? Has it blown any bulbs?

What happens now when you press the starter?

First thing you'll want to do is to buy a basic multimeter for about £5. It's going to take a lot of the guesswork out of the diagnosis.

We're trying to help, but you're not making it easy. There are many, many things that it could be, but I strongly suspect that you're unlikely to work through them in a methodical way.

If you describe the symptoms you've got more of a chance of getting a helpful suggestion that's not just a random guess.

What does that mean? In what way was it "no good"? Can you describe the symptoms that made you decide to change it?

Did you fully charge the new battery before fitting it?

Did it ever start up with the new battery?

Have you checked the voltage on the battery, with and without the engine running?

Do you hear a clicking sound when you press the starter?

Have you checked the condition and security of the the main battery earth cable coming from the -ve terminal, and the connections at the starter motor?
