Looks like I was right, too good to be true. I think I've had enough of all this.

My friend without benefits insists that "Hi, how are you doing?" is the best opening message.

But he seems blissfully unaware to it all. I'm just thinking about how it feels like a whole lot of fucking shit.

I have once seen a dog blissfully continue to eat crap off the floor, while another (larger dog) pissed on his back.

Ignorance is only bliss in the absense of observers, in my opinion Laughing

All joking aside, life is long (the longest thing we'll ever do), and the happiest couples in my experience met later in life.

Just chill the fuck out, do some hobbies, let it happen.

And when it does, set your boundaries and don't let the hosebeasts in too far.

Signed,

Mr no boundaries and now no savings.

I'm currently a third of the way down... scuttling past the happy crowds with my protective box under my arm. I have my hobbies and little luxuries (gym, mountain bike, gaming laptop)

Alternate ending here.

Cute Afro-Caribbean girl on OKC says she prefers nerdy white guys. View my profile but didn't respond to my message.

I wonder if she realizes the depths of nerditude, as evidenced by the rather normal looking guy sitting in a cardboard helicopter playing BF3 over in the Last Post Wins thread.

To be fair, "gamer girl" is usually either a porn star who can pose with a controller... or a large girl with poor social skills and an overdeveloped index finger.

Dating coach tries to explain to women why they should message men they find attractive on dating sites:

https://www.match.ca/magazine/article/9446/The-Secret-To-Online-Success/

I suppose his logic is flawed in that he forgets women are inundated with messages, and not all of them will be weird, ugly or creepy.

A pretty girl sent me a message yesterday:

"Hi"

Right...... Over the past week i have noticed an increase in the number of message i have received. I spent a little while wondering why and then realised its probably due to Valentines day which is fast approaching. No girl wants to be single on valentines day.

I seem to be getting about 7 or 8 messages a a day which is a little more than usual. I have been quite pleasantly surprised at how many phone numbers i have been offered this week. I make it my aim not to ever ask for a number as that seems a little bit desperate/creepy and if a woman offers you their number they must like something about you.

As i have been technically dating for a whole year now and been on many dates i am finding that i am beginning to understand women a bit better.

Likewise. I have four that I'm messaging now:
-a stunning if overly formal Indian girl, the 'hi' one from below. When she does write (she says she is having trouble sending messages) they are elegantly if imperfectly written. She asked if I wanted to go for a coffee/drink sometime which stuck me as a bit odd but I told her I was game and she suggested the weekend... and nothing.
-gorgeous and fit Caribbean girl who is into running and write fun messages. Definite like.
-another fit Caribbean girl who is also athletic, not as easy a conversation but so far so good.
-Swiss girl who rites a bit lazey wen she resonds, also takes a while to.

Going to see if I can get a date for Saturday, aiming for the second one.

Taking a while to reply is a good sign; a life outside the endless wall of date sites and finding a guy is not high on her list of priorities. Unless of course she is online all the time, but doesn't reply to you very often, that's a less positive sign.

Be warned - in my experiences of dating Indian women, they tend to fall into one of two categories: either total filth machines, or so uptight that holding hands is considered a massive relationship step, and once you've held hands for the first time you'll be introduced to the parents*.

*This has actually happened to me before.

My advice? Stick with the Caribbean girls - they tend to know what they're about, and provided you don't pull a nutter, they're far more fun to be with. Also, Dat Ass.

I've heard the same thing and am wary as a result. It was so nice to get a message from a non-hambeast/steg that I figured what the heck?

Meh, take a punt, just be prepared to run if stuff seems a bit off-kilter.

I'm probably too much of a nice guy to do that! One of my friends had a date organised with a girl from POF, he arrived at her house in his car, as she approached the car he saw she was far larger than her pictures had alluded to, so he just drove off, haha!

Well, I've got back on that horse and have a date arranged for an almost trained up doctor much closer to my own age. Let's see how this one fares!

Yeeeesh. Turns out my first choice goes to church every Sunday and is a "follower of Christ". She claims it isn't a dealbreaker so long as her other half isn't anti-Christian or anti-religion, but I get the feeling it actually kinda is.

First date of the year! Brunch with a young lady who has just moved back from Switzerland to do psychology, the 30something 'reinvention' strikes again.

Conversation flowed well, she's cuter than her pictures, and we have had a lot of similar experiences. Only slight issue is she's living with her parents to save money, but that's okay I guess - at least I have my own place if things get that far.

I had a nice hangover from being up past 1am drinking with my best friend so I wasn't feeling super awesome, and struggled a bit with my big breakfast. She declined the offer to go for a walk after brunch opting to go home and do her math homework (!!!). No opportunity for a kiss presented itself. I'd happily go for a second date with her.

Next date is on Friday, with the non-religious Caribbean girl.

Seriously, this January was just a freaking write off in every respect imaginable. February is where I put the lessons learned into making 2015 less sucktastic.

Pretty small minded, I know a few hot Asian gamer girls Laughing

Actually are both asian heritage and hot
