Hi

We've had a problem with a Gilera Coguar 125 cold starting for the past 3 weeks or so and have been feeding it Bradex to try and get it going while trying out different things.

Eventually found the problem after a compression test showed 30psi. Inlet valve was set too tight so when I adjusted it the bike went back to 150psi and runs lovely now.

Only problem is it still wont cold start without a little squirt of Bradex.

I've head of 'Bradex addiction' and I think I've got a bad case of it.

How do I wean it off?

You'll want quite a large bucket too, or that could get messy.

Cold turkey/tough love
Easy start type stuff is usually ether which ignites at low pressure
and should only be used in extremis as it can wash oil off bores
and increase wear.
It was used instead of fixing the underlying problem.
So, find and fix the problem.

What is the problem?
phuctyfino, but its possible the tight tappet damaged the integrity
of the seat/seal on the valve so it may need lapping in
Try a new plug first and check the choke is actually enriching the mixture, you may be lucky

Take a full can of Bradex and swig it all down in one gulp. It won't help your poor-starting bike but it will stop you listening to stupid people talking about a mechanical device having an addiction because you'll be dead.
