Well, I'll be looking for some new tyres I think in about 1500 miles but was wondering if I should just stick with my Avon's or try something else?
The Avon's have been great but the semi-slick rear is murder if there any wet patches or if I get caught in the rain.
I've been tempted with the following: Bridgestone BT-14, Dunlop 208s or Michelin Pilot Sports. I really want to stick to a sporty, stickier rubber as I had Metzler's on the bike when I got it (touring type tyres) and when I got the Avon's on there was no going back. Huge difference!
Anyone using the above or similar tyre? I will rack up those miles very quick over the next few months so I'm looking now!

Not sure buddy, i found a place that does some great Jap tyres, cheap but very sticky. Dont last long though.
If you want some thing to last a long time and give you all round performance try a Continental.
Dunlop were pants on my Enduro's, but thats only one type of tyre.
Pirelli's are very sticky.
Thats all i know from what i've used ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

I'm not bothered in getting good mileage from them, more for grip especially on the lean! My riding style and the ammount of time I go out on my bike has seen me eat through tyres...
What Pirelli makes are there like? Do Pirelli make the Diablo's? ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

Pirelli Diablo Corsa's have always been recommended to me, but no matter how much I am tempted by them, I always manage to get some cheap pre-scrubed 010s from Ebay instead.
I had Michelin Pilot Sports on my 400, and Dunlop 207s on a 900...both were fine in all conditions and for all that I could throw at it (which probably isn't much). I think that the Pilot Sports have been replaced by the Pilot Powers now?
BT12s (give or take the "SS") are good, but I think that they're being phased out by the 014s now... ____________________ TiN

No one mentioned the Bridgetone 020?
Pretty good in all weather and last quite a while - the rear on my ER-5 has been running for 4000 miles and only just starting to flatten out a little.
I think the 020 has a reinforced centre strip to prevent it flattening so quickly. Think that's right anyway. ____________________ Past: Honda NSR125R >> Kawasaki ER-5a2 >> Kawasaki ZZR-600e1 >> Suzuki GSXR-750Y >> Honda VTR 1000 Firestorm
