Haggis

What with Burns' night approaching, I am looking to procure a haggis. A nice proper real one would be awesome, but Scottishland is too far for me at the moment, what with London/soft/pansy/whatevs..

So what would you recommend? Any of the supermarkets do a fair one?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Either stuff a condom with human excrement or take a trip to your local independent butcher's. Either should provide you with something that exceeds the quality of the haggis offered by your local supermarket.

I think most of the main chain supermarkets do them at this time of year.
Take a look in your local Aldi/Lidl/Sainsubry/Morrisson/M&S even

I bought one a couple of years ago, but unfortunately read the ingredients before trying to ingest.
All that rattled through my mostly empty head was sheep lung, sheep lung, sheep lung........ and after a mouthful could eat no more (even though it didn't taste that bad!)

If you eat sausage, psychologically, you've no reason not to eat a haggis. It ain't prime cuts of tenderloin going into either of them.

I'm sure you can order online from somewhere. My mate managed to get Century Eggs, Surstrumming, Elk Jerky and crocodile fillets online so I'm sure a good haggis would be easy to come by (if a little expensive).

I tried Tesco's own brand and it was nice, though I've never had a proper one so can't comment on authenticity.

Most supermarkets have haggis which are perfectly edible, depends how you like them.

I usually add a tiny bit of butter and pepper once it's cooked though, sometimes the supermarket ones are a bit dry and bland before
