So after the winter I've pulled my speed fighter 2 out of the garage fuel had evaporated (lucky me) so filled it up it ran fine for a day then next day it started to top out n feel boggy about 40mph if I had throttle on full now the main jet works for maybe 200 yards before it becomes boggy but after its been sat idleing for a minute or so can go another 200 yards someone said it was bad fuel pulled through so I checked the carb and the jets there spotless (its 2 stroke self mixing) help ??

When fuel evaproates it doesn't completely disappear. There's all sorts of crap left behind... You might not be able to see the varnish clogging everything up though.

You could try running some Redex or similar products through it? It helped my bike run better after I took Christmas off.

Forgot to mention redEx was my first attempt at fixing it haha n it seams spotless it seams like fuels not getting to the main jet because if I let it idle it fills the main jets runs for a couple hundred yards then go us weak again so stop repeat

Well that's me out. Is it possible your fuel lines are all gacked up? That'd probably make it boggy.

...How much redex did you put in?

Given that one bottle ought to mix with around a two hundred litres of fuel, and the Speedfight doesn't have a tank that holds more than about five litres you might have created a problem there yourself

What I would do & have done in the past;

Disconnect fuel line, drain and flush tank by sucking on vaccum feed to fuel tap.

Re-fill with FRESH fuel from a clean container.

    Replace fuel filter.

    Open carburettor drain screw.

Get a tin of aerosol carb cleaner, spray it down the fuel line till the drain hose runs clear.

Spray up the drain hose till it starts pissing out of overflow/fuel line.

Disconnect vaccum feed to petrol tap, suck on the pipe to allow fuel to flush the line.

Connect fuel line back up, suck on pipe till clear fuel pisses out of the drain tube.

Do float bowl drain screw back up.

Suck on fuel hose vac feed for 10 seconds or so to re fill the carburettor with fuel.

Remove sparkplug, replace with fresh plug & check cap fits securely.

Spin it over and it'll usually fire right up after protesting and coughing a bit. Ought to take no more than 10-15mins as theres no need to remove the carburettor & pulling some ped carbs is massive ballache as they're in an awkward place.

Suspect it's just gummed up due to being sat...however look forward to an engine rebuild in the very near future if its been laid up for ages. My chinese 2t motor shat various engine bearings after being laid up for a year then being ragged Laughing

If it's not the carburettor, it's not the spark, and it's not fuel contamination then it's either air leak (probbably crank seal) or a total loss of compression.

Either way, thats when the bills get really big really quickly so I'd be very sure that the above isn't your problem. Wink

Fresh fuel on top of old fuel is no good as the water that's likely in it will sink to the bottom. The sediment clogging the carb up is also pretty likely to sink too.

I had a GS500 that had immaculate carbs till such times as you re-connected them to the fuel tank & it filled them up with muck again. Muck that was so fine it made it through the fuel filter too, hence my reccomendation to thoroughly flush the system.
