Been down to the local Yamaha dealer man this afternoon....

Is it just me or are the seats/"saddles" on the MT07 and MT09 simply uncomfortable???

Nice sales chap waffled on about a Comfort seat option available for the 07 for extra monies.... WHY ? Surly should come with a comfortable seat anyway if it's that good a bike..

By comparison sat on a new XJ6, so it is possible that Yamaha people know what a comfortable seat should be like...
Any thoughts BCF ?

Been looking at youtube videos of people test riding the MT-07 and MT-09 just because window shopping bikes is all I do.. and.. you're not alone in the seat opinion.

The bike is apparently cheap as chips for how it performs however with the exhaust system costing roughly £600 something on the MT-07 and £900 something on the MT-09 I wouldn't be tempted as a choice ever.. why have a bike if the price of parts to upgrade are ridiculous.

All stock seats are crap, well on yamahas any way. I got me a comfort seat for my R1 and for £200 totally transforms the bike from a 100 ball ache to 400 miles no problem.

It's all about cost!

Tracer has a more comfortable seat as standard, but I guess you're after a naked - it's also 8k Vs 7 :/

The seat is no worse than my SV, it is firm which I prefer opposed to squashy.

After 100 miles in the seat I had no aches or pains

I've had a short few mile spin on an MT07, not really long enough to get uncomfortable but by comparison I've also ridden a Z800 roughly the same distance and that really was a pain in the arse.

Funny that, It never even crossed my mind how comfortable the seat was on my YDS7, RD400 or various YPVS's. What's changed then?

Pipe down boy. You bought an SV650 with your own money so are hardly able to pass opinion on what is entertaining and what is a two wheeled car.

Sorry for trying to engage in a discussion. As I've always noticed you seem incapable of that Thumbs Up

Perhaps he gets together with Tef to slate modern Yamaha supersport 600s? Thinking

Seats are as personal as underwear. Comfort, sports, commando, try them. Some folk bawww that my GS has a poor stock seat, but I find it 400 mile comfortable.

You could buy a 'comfort' seat for my Triumph Explorer.

That pissed me off, £12000 on a bike and an optional extra was a comfortable seat! Taking the piss or what.

At least my Trophy came with the comfort/heated seats.

most triumphs have a comfort or gel option, they're cheaper than a replacement std seat, and made by the same spanish company

There would be something amiss if you couldn't haggle a free gel seat.
