Hi guys,

My scooter has just started sounding like a Harley Davidson with a very loud exhaust noise. I don't think it's the exhaust though as it sounds like it's coming from the air box.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Is yours a catalyst model? If the air injection setup has a split hose or the one way valve fails they get loud from the wrong end.

It's 2006, not a cat model. The first year of the 4 stroke ones I think. Is that what you meant by catalyst model?

I've taken it apart and discovered the problem. On the secondary airbox which can be seen on this link below, the cover with the long rigid pipe coming out of it had snapped.
