Once the bulb is back in the front it will be fine.

Another common symptom is it could blink twice as fast.

The type of flasher unit you have, depends on load to operate - so one bulb isn't enough to make it flash.

You would need to change the flasher unit for an electronic type, if you wanted it to work with a single bulb or LED's.
