Recently changed bike and it's got a set of Bridgestone BT014s on it. Previous bike had Pilot Road 3s on it.

Here's an example of what keeps happening - this was after about 7 miles of city riding, not very aggressive acceleration and the tyre breaks loose. This happened about 4 or 5 times tonight, definitely wasn't ice and wasn't very wet either- https://youtu.be/zMUTBl_cNIQ

Am I not heating the tyre up enough? Are BT014s just crap? The Pilot Road 3s, I could start the bike up in the cold and go flat out on the Street Triple and get no spin at all. These BT014s feel like any spirited acceleration causes them to break free like in the video.

Whoever had the bike before me has managed to wear them to the edges, so they must be working okay at some points. I'm tempted to put the bike in and get a set of Pilot Road 3s on it, but the Bridgestones on it are hardly worn so it feels like a huge waste.

Common problem with BT014s, they're a bit meh.

Try getting an accurate tyre pressure gauge and experimenting with the pressure.

I find that just 2psi either side of the recommended pressure makes a massive difference to the grip.

Note that those reviews are mostly from big bike owners complaining of slow warm-up times. If you have a middleweight and ride around town in current temperatures, the tyres will probably stay stone cold.

It is a big bike, so the chances are then the tyres are staying stone cold. I guess I need to get some Pilot Road 3s then, I could get them warm on the Street Triple just going to Tesco!

Bridgestone.

Need I say more. Laughing

I only ever got my set of 014's hot on a blisteringly hot day after 20miles of rather spirited riding on my zx6.

Have you considered a TDM?

I must admit I always liked the BT01* series, however the 016's on my S4 this morning where shit, I normally take the TDM with PR3's on in but it is getting serviced, I had so little confidence in them. I actually stopped on route to check the pressures they were only 1 PSI down on the front.
