I used to sell it in one of the dealers I worked at years ago. Good quality, with a number of design features that no one else had at the time. But very expensive back then, and some of the materials they used I have seen on other brands now.
Outlast was one feature. Supposedly developed as insulation for space suits, it keeps you at a comfortable temperature in very cold conditions. I tried it briefly when we first got the stuff in. "Just wear a t-shirt underneath" they said, on a very cold winter day, and it did seem to work, but I never tested it extensively. This must have been back in about 2004/5.
I think some police forces at that time had chosen it too. Some jackets had a very thick protective material incorporated, felt like those bristly doormats, and was meant to work very well. Made em feckin heavy though!
And all their jackets and trousers were supposed to be made to a careful analysis of where most bike crash injuries occur, to better protect those areas, although probably most manufacturers would say the same.
Anyhow, that's about all I remember about it. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Tried a few on at a local shop, comfortable and seemed well built, but same as above, out of my price range, so bought a cheaper "Scott Leathers" jacket instead. ____________________ The above post is most likely nonsensical.

I have a Halvarssons Jacket and gloves.
The gloves aren't bad, never leaked but as will ALL gloves I've tried, my very fingertips still get cold. But by no means the worst pair I've tried on. At £70 I'm happy enough.
The jacket. Well, I'm more than impressed. This is my second winter of riding with it. I ride to work with just a thin white shirt on underneath. I wouldn't say I'm 'toasty' warm, but I'm far from chilly. Just about right usually.
Here's the important bit. It has NEVER leaked. Ever. I've ridden in light showers, wet & windy storms, snow even! It's been amazing. I paid about £250, RRP £400. But that's because it was last seasons designs.
If you can afford it, get it. There's probably very little on eBay because people want to keep it. I umm and arr over getting a different jacket, but I know I'll never get a deal like that again! ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |
