You've got to leave, you have one small carry on suitcase. 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm or 44litres of space in this case and 40 kilos of weight to carry in it.

You might not ever be able to return to where you consider home.

What do you take with you and why?

EDIT for context.

I'm currently reading the diaries of my great ancestors. They had to leave in a big old hurry as the next village over had just been burned to the ground and not wanting to be chopped to bits grabbed things and legged it.

Why do I have to leave?

Different reasons = different items.

My gold, laptop and hard drives, iPad, phone, wallet. A few clothes but that's about it. I'm not sentimental so have nothing like that to take. Anything else I can buy.

couple of sets of clothes, laptop & charger, phone chargers, passport, birth certificate, driving licence, a few other needed documents.

Its about all anybody realistically needs, unless you're the soppy type, there's relatively little that you absolutely must have that cant be replaced in one form or another.

I do actually have a 'grab bag' with most of the things above in, its just easier to keep it all together, for when the zombies come ya see Laughing

Not only is that the most boring list ever, you seem to think that "passport, birth certificate, driving licence, a few other needed documents." will be of some use when the zombies arrive.

WTF is up with that....

Multitool, 8" adjustable spanner, screwdriver set, tape and length of blue rope. Phone, wallet, one of those u-shaped neck pillows and I guess I could buy a laptop... Oh, and a towel. Why did nobody say towel?

So I could fix nearly anything, sleep anywhere and still have funds, communications and entertainment.
