As title, my T plate, Honda cg 125 has been stolen.
I'm in Brighton, so if anyone around the area sees it, pm me on here.
Its blue, L-plate on front is missing (bracket on right fork leg is still present).
Stolen from Preston park area between the hours of 6pm 6th feb and 10am on 7th Feb.
Reg: T--- CJO

Pic later as I'm on notsosmart phone.
But this is basically it, plus rust on rear wheel and exhaust:

Yeah it is, or was. You from round here? Thing is there's a very tasty looking r125 about 15metres up the road that doesn't even look to be locked up. No idea why they went for mine!
Will check out that spot thanks for heads up.
As I discovered it's disappearance, I walked around the corner and flagged a passing police car down, they've updated me with the round trip they made of the area which was fruitless, but I got the crime reference number. So will call insurance later.
I'm not that devved, bit its just an inconvenience. The bike was due some loving as it was feeling rough so it may well have done me small favour.
Depending on what insurance company comes back with id probably rather not have it found....!

Because its cheap and easy to get rigged up to run as bad man field bike.

Unlucky, but you need a chain sir.

Yes I'm up the road from you, will keep an eye out for it. Insurance isn't wise as you won't get much for it plus your be paying 5 years in inflated premiums

I will keep an eye out in Coldean. There are sometimes (ie. 2 in the 3.5 years I've been here) dumped bikes in the woods

Thanks for the eyes people.
I've already contacted the insurance company. Will see what they come back with.
Not holding out much but will squeeze what I can out of the situation. Doubt I'll see it again and if I do, it won't be in a condition I'll want to salvage it from. I've already moved on, looking to see what I can afford to get without insurance payback. Doesn't seem to be much about though.

The CG is pretty much bulletproof. So they'll be riding it around for a while. Probably will be a field bike, but only ridden during night. Or probably used to get more bikes from different areas.

The reason the took your old CG is because it's easier to get started up. Where's the R125 is more complicated to get started. More than likely teenagers looking for something to ride around a field / council area not too far from where it was taken.

Scour the local field for marks in the grass from a bike. Then look if they go off towards any bushes. Most thieves stash their stolen bikes in the bushes.

they found the bike.
holding it in a depot over te road from work conveniently enough.

will be checking it out later today or tomorrow to see what the damage is.
kinda wish they hadnt found it though.
i wont be getting in touch with insurance until ive seen it though.

any advice on how to play this out if:

1: the bike is FUBAR and i dont wanna touch it (preferred option)

2: the bike 'looks' ok, and i might be tempted to reclaim it to: fix it up, or break it and sell it if it possible to make more than what it cost to recover it myself.

advice appreciated. they charge £10 per day on top of the £150 recovery fee - but they are holding it at £150 for today and tomorrows storage.

as said in my PM to you Paddy,

they were talking about charges for recovery & storage. however, the police may have fucked up as i was told today they couldnt get in touch with me last night due to the reporting officer not having my contact details - they found it last night but the comms officer(?) who found it contacted the officer who i reported it to initially and they didnt have my phone number to call me to tell me it had been found (around 19:10 last night).
this meant they had to put it in to storage and didnt get in touch with me until lunch time today.

I think there may be cause here for me to not pay any charges for recovery & storage, but not sure what to do with insurance situation....wishing i hadnt contacted insurance now!

EDIT: the storage garage is just over the road from work, so potentially i could go there, get it released and wheel it round to the car park at work (locked at night) and keep it there until i decide what to do???

i dont want to hand over money to then have to get it back off rozzers. so could i get it out the garage and not pay them/make po po pay for it?

Glad they have found it....

As said before, I maybe interested in it if its a salvage job.

Again, I'm happy to offer the use of my van if its un-rideable and you want to recover it

thanks Tamsin - thats good of you. I'm a bit unsure how to play it really.
if i go to the garage and its bolloxd, or it looks 'ok' im still going to have to contact insurance as i will have to pay the garage for recovery right?
and i dont want to be £150 out of pocket unless i know i'll make it back through selling it off as salvage or the insurance will pay out....
