For me, 95% of my riding is Sunday morning countryside with a cheeky fry up squeezed in.
I'll only tour once or twice a year (family! ) for a few days at a time.
This year it's northern France end of May.
Yep, I could imagine going miles on the Tiger. Really comfy and confidence inspiring to just chew up the miles but I also have to consider pannier off scratching  ____________________ Honda CB600F Hornet 2013 -> Kawasaki Z1000SX ABS Tourer 2015 |

likewise ellis, I don't do masses of touring to my shame, I'm getting into it a bit now, and in reality this year i'm likely to do a few weekends and maybe one longer trip. but i guess it doesn't matter how often you do those trips you still want to be comfy on them. plus i might just keep the cbr as well  ____________________ Then: Kawasaki ZZR250 > Suzuki Across 250 > Suzuki SV650 > Honda CB750

Mate loving it. Don't notice any vibes unless I'm spanking it with the revs right up and then it feels 'right' anyway.
You'd have to be way 100+mph to get the revs up there on a motorway.
One thing.
I read that most bike for the UK market are set up with the preload too soft and the rebound too hard.
I found this on my Z1000SX. It was OK but didn't feel as sharp as it could be on the corners.
Using a guide from a bike mag, I increased my rear preload from 8/40 clicks to 28/40. Added half a turn onto the front preload. The difference was astounding. Really astounding. It feels so tight in the bends now it's like a sports bike. I think the dealers miss a trick on this. I guess they have too have the test bikes as 'standard' but it seems standard is set up for a nun on a cobbled road. Smooth over the bumps but with no excitement!
Try it when you test one. Ride it, then add a load of clicks to the rear, perhaps 15 or so then ride it again.
Would I change it for another bike hmmmmmmm?
I can't think of one in the same price range that offers so much.
Test ride the Triumphs 800's and 1050 Sport, also the MT09 Tracer. ??
I love the look of the Suzuki GSX-S1000F but no pannier option. Put me off.
Off to Wales this weekend with the panniers on, Bedfordshire to Snowdonia, back down for overnight at Aberystwyth, curry/beer, the Élan Valley, Brecons and Ross-On-Wye Sunday! ____________________ Honda CB600F Hornet 2013 -> Kawasaki Z1000SX ABS Tourer 2015 |
