Alright guys. Iv recently picked up a 2005 husky cr250 2 stroke. Needs a bit of tlc but nothin major. Was wondering if anyone else has owned one or currently owns one. Any common faults? Things to check? Also I believe some things to be the same as the ktms? Can anyone confirm any parts that would be the same for a ktm as these? Cheers Joe[/i]

Doubt much would swap-over with a KTM, the Huskies were owned by BMW at that point in time, I think. You may be getting confused with Husaberg, which was an off-shoot of Husqvarna once upon a time, before eventually ending up being owned by KTM, lots of bits swap with those bikes.

I like the CR250. I like Husqvarna's. I'm not sure whether to get a WR250 or a TE310 to add to the fleet for more hard-
core stuff, in a few years time though, when I'm bored of my Honda. Laughing

Yep, a lot of Husaberg stuff is idential to KTMs - on the 2 strokes they're pretty much just a top-specced KTM I believe.

Husky was bought by KTM a couple of years ago and I believe Husaberg has since been incorporated with them.

Guess I must be confused with husaberg then. Yea seems like a good Bike apart from the small things iv found with it while inspecting it at work I.e fork seals needed cleaning, exhaust was blowing due to only having one seal installed, rear rim was cracked( New one on the way) gear lever splines were worn making it loose( New one fitted) and the air filter wasnt in best condition so iv ordered a new one if them aswell. Should be sweet when rear wheels built back up. Mechanically the engine seems good no funny noises etc and pulled well when testing it on the field down the road. Cant wait to get back on the track need to do some forearm workouts though as im sure its gonna pull Em off Wink
