Okay at the weekend I went to Yorkshire to visit family. During my time their I went to the gym with my 17 stone steroid fuled cousin. We trained legs...
Now my cousin absolutely obliterated me.. I'm 6ft2 and 14 stone, not on any steroids or big into body building although I do go to the gym and lift. Not with the intensity or the style of my cousin, I was close to being sick passing out and not lifting as heavy for a long time. We did squats, deadlifts, various leg machines and also some sparing in the ring their. I was being shouted at, slapped, threatened and forced to train like a mad man. I really enjoyed it at the time and was good fun and a great gym. Allthough I am now in pain and from waist down Im dead. I cant bend down and its taking literally 10-15 mins to even put socks and shoes on, Im walking down the stairs backwards and walking with wobbly legs and my glutes are on fire. Super sore..
Anyway at work I need to do lots of bending down to pic things up and I literally cant and wont be able to till maybe two days from now I'm thinking. Never been so sore from a gm session. I dont want to call in sick at work, if i go in work and explain or say i have fell over or something are they required to put me on another dutie i can do.. like swap duties with someone who is standing all day. Or will they and are they obliged to say no go home if u cant do it. I dont want to looses out money due to a leg day Sad.. Thanks.
Im 22 and my cousin is going on 50 i have no idea how he can train like that WOW.

My employer would try and help out if I was in pain, but you can't expect it.
Either you're fit to do your job, or you're unfit for work. That's what I'd have thought anyway.

I'd say is pretty normal, you've just overdone it a bit. When you lift weights, you're damaging your muscles and that's how they grow. All that's happened is you've done too much and possibly not worked out the lactic acid build up afterwards. Do some stretches, have a protein shake and you'll be fine. You know what your limits are now.

To me this is no different than asking for light duties because you have a hangover. If I were boss I would not be impressed.

Eh. It's a bit of a fad among corporate HR goons to spaff out "wellness" propaganda, it being much cheaper to put some grapes in the canteen than to pay people more. Play on that, and don't call it a sports injury, call it a healthfullness overenhancement. Wink

I think it all depends on how accommodating you employer/manager is tbh.

Phone in first to speak to your line manager to explain your situation and see what they say. It may save you a wasted journey travelling to work only to be sent home again.

Couldn't help but laugh at this, there's a few things you can do but worst thing would be to stop and not move, you need to get the blood circulating to clear out the lactic acid in your muscles.

Keep on moving and MTFU, you'll be back to full health just in time for you next leg workout.

Protein shake, Vitamin C and a good few carbs for the next 2 days.

I threw a dumped sofa into a neighbour's garden over a 6 ft fence on Saturday, but do you hear me complaining? Do you fuck, I went to work as usual today.
