Was there seriously no indication of grumbling/clunking etc when you test rode it?
You weren't sat in the garage redlining it were you when it shat itself?

2 options: Go back to seller and make an argument for your money back, slim chance though - you don't strike me as the machete wielding nutter type.!
Or strip off fairing, get some photo's on here and start saving up for your licence. That'll give you time to find a new lump and learn your way around it.

Can't help thinking the next two hour chat with the seller will be a little less convivial than the previous one. Did anyone on the other thread actually say yeah got a good feeling about this one - definitely buy it. Because if they did, I really can't remember that. Anyway yeah - pics pls.

Ouch! Sounds pretty nasty... but all might not be lost.

Seeing as it starts and runs this tells you the rest of the bikes parts are working, and seeing as you bought the sh** then it must be half decent cosmetically as well. Start looking online for second hand engine for your model, who knows what might be floating around out there, if you could get a spare engine, then have a friend round and book a week off work and just have a crack at swapping it. Cannot fuck it up more than it sounds at the moment.. Question Exclamation

It was a private sale. What the fuck exactly comeback against the seller do any of you think this guy has? Not a chance of his money back, and the seller might not have known about the problem, and if he did, you cannot dis prove his possible argument that it must have happened after you had collected it.

OP your either £2k down to experience, or you need to source another motor.

It might pay next time to look at more original bikes in std colours, 1-2owner from new types, that have been garage queens half their life instead of a modified very non std bike that must have a story to why it's so altered from std.

You don't have any comeback really... Not without a long drawn out process already costing you more money.

Nearly everyone in that previous thread told you to avoid it like the plague.

Lesson Learned the hard way:

Get the fairings off and show us some pictures of the damage

Any pics of the damage. Why do I think you're trolling?

In your last thread you came here seeking approval of your already made choice, any posts disagreeing with your decision you were taking as stupid or offensive. People pointed out that colour change pretty much means crash damage repair, front end was indicating that too. You were not going to listen to any advice and it was clear.

You got the bike YOU wanted. It turned out to be a mistake. You posted videos with engine running before and it seemed fine. Whatever happened after you bought is not sellers responsibility (the bike was fine before) so it is your problem. That's the way private sale works.

Looks like instead of getting your driving licence you will be getting new engine on your already ovetstretched budget.

Alternatively sell it, but I expect you won't get all your money back.

I can't wait for the thread on him actually learning to ride a bike and passing his test. It must be on his agenda this year or is he just going to buy bikes that he isn't able to ride all the time?

After much encouragement not to buy, you buy anyway, bike then spills it's guts, then instead of keeping quiet you tell the world?
Seems trollish.
Personally I would of kept quiet, fixed it, passed test, rave how good it is, win forum.

I should be absolutely clear that any encouragement that I may have seemed to imply in the previous thread was done purely for the purest, most noble purpose: the lulz.
