Hi guys, I have a 1998 Yamaha diversion which has a couple of issues, i need to replace a couple of the shins on the intake and rebalance the carb. But the issue im confused about is once its been run for about 20 miles and turned off, there is a large puddle of brown fluid underneath and is coming from the breather pipe from the air box, it smiles like fuel and have looked in the aitbox which is wet could this be an issue with the shins being too worn out and dragging too much fuel through and why would it turn brown?

If your current shins are worn they are obviously going to need replacing.

To make the new shins last longer you can get guards for them

And then, if you slap it hard enough that should soon wipe the smile off it's face.

(the stuff coming out of the airbox is likely a fuel/oil mix and shouldn't be happening)

Take the tank off and clean out all the breather hoses. This is a common problem on divvies.

The breather hose is clogged with emulsified oil, will look like white jizz. Clean it out the air box, and replace it with a length of garden hose. A well know mod over on the divvy forums.

The reason it gets blocked is because the hose gets kinked because its rubber. A garden hose is much more rigid, fitted one to mine and it fixed the problem.
