genuine part?

Hi
Following on from my recent post about brake master cylinders
I bought a "genuine' Yamaha one off eBay and although it came in a Yamaha box there are no Yamaha markings on the unit itself. Should I query it send it back?

None of my master cylinders on my Yams ever had markings other than serial numbers.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Aye....the bike manufacturers tend to outsource parts like this.......and you can save quite a bit by buying outsourced parts from the OEM....if possible. All you get extra from the bike manufacturer is a nice box, and they're usually a half to two thirds more expensive.

OK - checked with the guy I bought it and he assures me it was bought from Yamaha for his FJ1300 and looking at other MC for FJ it looks the same i.e no Yamaha branding on the top. So I'm happy with that and at £30 a bargain. Now to fit it to my FZ750!
