That actually sounds like it could work.

I would just 'have something else', but there currently seems to be a limited amount of things the kids will eat, so I have to go along with it...

If you eat each of the ingredients separately you might be able to quantify which one it is you've gone off.

No, wait, that's just an excuse to eat copious quantities of :

Fried mince and onions
White sauce
Pasta (tomato) sauce
Huge sheets of pasta
Grated/melted cheese
(maybe fried aubergines, depends how you're making it ...)

... so far I don't see a problem.

If in doubt, add more grated cheese.

And then you should add bacon.

Please don't mistake me for one of the unwashed but I do find 'veggie' lasagne to be tastier and massively superior to 'traditional' lasagne Embarassed

It very much saddens me to agree with you on this........... I never thought I'd say it, but it's true {insert piss taking here}. Whether it's from a packet or home-assembled (it's not home made, I buy things like pasta sheets) it always annoyingly works out that the 'veggie' option is nicer.

Unless it has fake mince in. Actual veg is fine.

Making a veggie dish 'look' like meat by processing the crap out of any available vegetable protein is pointless and stupid.

In my defence, heated quadruped (and certain tetrapod) is still my favourite food group. Though it seems as I'm getting older I'm swaying toward having it as-is (i.e. just chopped up a bit and cleaned) rather than lots of messing around so it fits in other dishes.

Sauce is alright to add, but making the animal into a sauce just isn't cricket.

(Spag-bol is still safe, for now at least.)

BCF is now Bacon Chat Forums.

If you don't put meat in lasagne then it's not lasagne.

Make lasagne with lots of grated courgette, ricotta and garlic tomato sauce, alternative to meet lasagne which I am not a fan of at all. Mince only works in cottage pie for me, those sort of dishes need making yourself though, anything shop bought is just slop with vile gristle infested meat.

*Vegetarianism
*You're

Now that's out of the way....

I didn't say 'vegetarianism' - I said that particular dish was nicer with real vegetables instead of "meat" for some reason.

But calorie counting? That's something I simply can't understand or support in any fashion.

The only time I count calories is when I go out to eat I like to see if I can have at least 2 day's RDA in a single sitting.
