With the exception of more track time and tyres, what has made you faster? I ask as I'm sacking off road riding this year, at least on my bike, and thinking about what to spend my tax and insurance monies on. Saving for a euro track day and more pressingly some half decent warmers are on my list.

Less pies and be fitter. Mental strength would be a good idea too. Track time is all well and good, but it needs to be quality as well as quantity.

Tyre warmers are great, they give you the confidence to come up to pace very quickly.
Quickshifter, A decent Quickshifter like one from HM will drop your lap times a bit.

I think the best upgrade you can get is some tuition like California Superbike School. If i remember right there are 4 stages. each one focusing on specific areas like Braking, Cornering etc

Most of what is taught is in CSS can be found in TotW2 - the only thing I found useful I had to 'steal' - they taught it in level 3, but won't go off curriculum and I was only on level 2. So I had to listen in to others being taught.
It was about gripping the tank with your knees and using your thighs to move your body - especially useful in chicanes.

After I did the first one, I felt loads smoother.
Turned out that was because I was riding slower. Could have ridden smoother and slower without spending the money and time with them!

I'd go back to TotW2 and read through it again, making a point to follow each of the examples.

Also, take this excellent advice from Rossi for going quicker:
Brake later, corner quicker, accelerate earlier.

Breaking:
Defining and using braking markers - to be last of the late late brakers (without risking overshoot) - will get you faster and consistent laps.

Performance Friction brake pads, there are other manufactures, but PF are so confidence inspiring.

If you don't use the back brake already, then start using it.

Other stuff:
Body position and fluidity is key.

Running just the fuel you need for the session.

Pick someone slightly faster than you and follow them - if they can do it, so can you!
