I'm not on about actual controlling of the bike, riding speed or death-inviting maneuvers, it's weird things people routinely do whilst sitting on a bike.

I've seen a lot of people sit with only one bum cheek on the seat. Can't imagine for a moment that it's comfortable.

The oddest thing I think I've seen is a guy riding a 125-sized bike in London. He had obviously taken the advice of regularly checking your mirrors far too literally so in the hundred yards I followed him his head was constantly and very deliberately going left mirror, right mirror, forwards, left, right, forwards - all highly pantomimed with huge nodding motions as if he was proving to the world how safety-conscious he was. Thing is he was only doing about 20mph Very Happy

Depends how far you've ridden. Sometimes you just need to give one cheek a rest for a while, or take your weight on your quads for a bit. Although it's amazing how many people don't sit straight on their bike as normal, which could explain a lot of perceived difficulty in cornering one way or the other.

I have a mate who's 6'7" who used to put his legs up over the tank on his KLr650 to stretch his knees when doing long journeys (his feet used to land up kind of under the handlebars with his heels resting on the indicators).

I've also seen people riding Harleys side-saddle on longer runs.

People who blip the throttle whilst waiting at traffic lights make me chuckle.

I've seen a bloke near me a couple of times, on a scooter (probably 125 or less) who rarely lifts either foot off the ground,

One time, I followed him for a good few miles, and neither foot was more than an inch off the road!

A guy I know literally never exceeds the speed limit, not even by 1 or 2 mph and yet he
keeps buying 'faster' bikes.

Needless to say I rarely go on rides with him.

There ought to be a law against that.

They'd only be driving their 350bhp Subaru's and Lancer's at 59mph if they weren't on a bike though! Wink

There's a chap nearby who likes riding his ratty bobber with his left hand on his hip.

He thinks: I look rock and roll.

I think: you're a little teapot.

Hmm kind of a hard question I've seen many people dragging their feet on 600's and thous. This isn't just at slow speed but 50+. That's got to be the weirdest thing or side straddling whilst riding along the road.

Actually a good way to rest your hand on long journeys especially if you have done a lot of filtering and clutch control through miles of motorway traffic.

Second. My VFR is particularly uncomfortable after a few hours. It's easy to sit so I'm balanced with my left thigh on the seat, and the bike is at an angle to balance the weight shift because the throttle is nice and close. Doing the same the right thigh is more awkward, needs a silly lean into the wind.

Reminds me of Alex Chacon's KLR with fork-mounted footpegs. Looked handy for the monstrously long Peruvian highways

Also people in London dragging their feet along the ground, just seems dangerous to me.

Sikh wearing his turban instead of a helmet on his scooter on the a406.

I mean sure, you (unfortunately) have every right to do that, but why the fuck would you?

The VanVan rider who in 16 months of passing me daily NEVER nodded back to me. I mean he was a god damned VanVan rider! How you can ride a VanVan and not be a happy person who nods?!?!?!

Also, I regularly see people waiting at lights that do not play bongo on their tanks while waiting for a green light. Frankly I find this behavior VERY strange!

Take your fucking turban off, then stick your lid on.

I seriously cannot fathom how laws like this do not have to apply to some people on Religious Grounds. It's insane.

Do they sleep and shower with them on...?

I saw a bloke riding with his right leg resting on a carpenters G clamp clamped to the frame. When he stopped he used his right hand to lift his leg off the clamp, so I'm guessing he had an artificial leg.

blipping throttle at lights is a necessity on many of my bikes, they wont tickover lol anyway back to strange behavior

scooters blipping throttle pretending to change gear

never ever EVER letting off the throttle

wearing full one piece leathers and a chinese fighter pilot piss pot lid

rolling a fag in a tankbag whilst riding

leg bungee corded to bike whilst riding, crutches bungee'd to the back

a girl with pink hair sitting side saddle on her bike in the middle of a duel carriageway roundabout in torrential rain eating a cold pot noodle (yes really) waving at passers by.

I regularly ride part of my commute with a BMW rider who from what I can see, does his ole commute standing on the pegs. He's also clearly vertically challenged as at the lights he's just about managing to keep a leg over the bike.
