Hi guys, quite a simple problem but I don't want to risk blowing a hole in the piston of my bike!

I've got an aprilia rs125 (11kw) 2006, new shape. Had a NGK BR8ES spark plug in, but when a mobile bike mechanic came down to take a look at another problem, he said that it was the wrong plug and I should have the NGK R BR10EG. As far as I'm aware the bike is still restricted, only has an aftermarket exhaust, no other evidence to suggest it's been derestricted. A manual I found online says the BR8 for half power, but the mechanic said 10EG.

So should I be running the NGK BR8ES or the NGK R BR10EG?

Thanks guys! I know it's a simple question but I dunno if I should trust the mechanic or follow the manual!

What evidence do you have that the mechanic has a clue about anything? Go with the manual.

hi,
the rotax & aprilia manuals both state BR10 for full power bike & BR8 for restricted bike.
if bike is full power but you dont often red line it, then a BR9 will be more suitable.
but seeing yours is 11kw, it restricted (unless you have done the de-restriction yourself) so stick with a BR8 or 9.

cheers,
GAZ

The 8 is the one you want if you are restricted.
