Hi guys,
I bought a Gilera 125 ST last week, and everything was fine, been parked in my garage for the last 5 days, on day 3 i went into the garage and noticed my dashboard was lit up, which i found really strange as the keys was in my hand,
4th day and same thing, but light went out after a few mins, then today i went in to turn the bike on, and the battery was 100% flat.
anyone have experience with what has happened?
does the dashboard light up to inform me that my battery is running low? when i say dashboard, i mean the lights where the speedo/time/petrol is.
the actual bike lights at front and back was not on.
I just find it strange that the dashboard was lit up considering no keys was in the bike.
any idea's or help would be really appreciated.

I'd pull the plastics off and check out the wiring. Unless it's a brand new bike my guess would be some bodge artist has been fiddling with the electrics.

yeah the battery is very clean, there is no dirt/marks on the battery.
I did get told that the gilera 125 ST's will light up to inform you when the battery is running low, but i found that hard to believe.
how can the dashboard light up without me having the keys in the bike.

That's a little bit counter intuitive. "Lets warn people their battery is low by using the battery to light the instrument panel".

Could be a short somewhere or a connector is corroded. Suzuki v-storms had a similiar issue where the bike would continue running even when you took the key out, ended up being a poorly placed connector that got corroded.

I've recharged my battery and put it back in and as soon as i connect it without putting keys in, the light comes straight on.

I'm new to motorbikes so not to sure what you mean by wiring diagram, the bike is a gilera 125 ST.
When you say wiring, I unscrew the battery cover and there is the battery + a small section with 4 different coloured fuses.

I did have a close look at the ignition and it don't seem to be fiddled with, the bike on a whole is in really good condition, but are you saying I'd need to remove the ignition to have a closer look?
