Yes, read on here, and other biker forums, somewhat of a centrifugal effect of the oil spinning in the engine with just enough drive to move the opposing side, but can stop with light finger resistance.

Not sure if that is actually true, but have had it on the 3 bikes I've owned, and seen it on plenty more, none of those bikes ever blew up. Thumbs Up

Also I found on all mine, once the engine oil warmed up, and subsequently thinned out, the rear wheel stops spinning in neutral, but most of the time I've already set off by then.

As said before;
Your rear wheel bearings are in excellent shape and the wheel is being coaxed to fall forward by the engine's cylinder power moving forwards on its power stroke.

Machined parts - in good condition and nicely lubed and set up - tend to all want to go the same way; that's why we'll get to Mars one day.

No adjustment necessary - sounds like a nice and healthy bike.

Here's what is really happening. It is an effect called 'viscous coupling'. In the gearbox the gears are constantly meshed but only the selected gear is locked to its shaft to provide drive to the wheel. In neutral, no gear is locked to the shaft, but the drag of the oil between the gear and its shaft allows a little torque transfer to happen. The effect is greater when cold, due to the oil being more viscous. Bikes are often more difficult to push about in gear, with the clutch in, for the same reason (viscous coupling across the wet clutch when open). It is also the reason for the 'clunk' when you select first (again, worse when cold).

Yes, normal.

It's just God's way of telling you the rear brake isn't quite seized properly yet.

I ended up asking a similar question when I first saw it happen on my bike. WTF is going on here? Is neutral broken.

Got the same answer as everyone else is giving

I thought that was because Yamaha were rubbish at designing gearboxes.

That just gives the Yamahas a more characterful clunk.
